Our CEO.

Dr. Carmen Dominique Barfield, a Memphis native, blends her passion for entertainment and education into a remarkable entrepreneurial journey. A graduate of Whitehaven High School, The University of Memphis, and Carson Newman University, she also attended Crescent School of Gaming and Bartending, earning her Master of Mixology Certification.

In 2014, Dr. Barfield founded Applesauce Bartending, Inc., a business that started with bartending events for family and friends but has now grown into a thriving enterprise catering to esteemed clients like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/ALSAC, NBC, and BET. With a dedicated team of certified bartenders and bar assistants, the company serves events of all sizes. Dr. Barfield’s experiences include:

  • 20 Years experience in food & beverage service

  • Restaurant, country club, night club, & arena catering & bartending experience

  • Minority-Female entrepreneur for 10 years, contracting a staff of over 20 experienced bar professionals

In addition to her experience in the food, beverage and hospitality industry, Dr. Barfield has 16 years of educational experience, including her current role as an assistant principal. Dr. Barfield is deeply committed to empowering and educating others. Dr. Barfield is a member of professional associations such as the National Restaurant Association, the National Education Association, The National Association of Elementary School Principals, and The Alpha Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Additionally, her contributions to local schools through Applesauce Bartending, Inc. exemplify her dedication to fostering knowledge and innovation for a brighter future.

Dr. Barfield's multifaceted achievements mark her as a trailblazer in both entrepreneurship and education, embodying a spirit of leadership and service in her community.
